Westward  Bound
with William Henry Jackson

On one side is Jackson's Historic Homecoming depicting Sacajawea with Lewis and Clark when she is reunited with her girlhood friend, Jumping Fish, and her brother, Shoshone chief Cameahwait, after guiding Lewis & Clark and the Corps of Discovery to the Rocky Mountains.
On the other side is Jackson's The North Platte Valley with Chimney Rock on the horizon. It was the most recorded landmark on the emigrant trails.  The area around Chimney Rock looks very much the same today as it did when Jackson first passed through it in 1866.

The box for this two-sided puzzle is large enough to hold an assembled puzzle inside it. Kids can even put it together while traveling in a car, and the pieces won't get lost.

This 100 piece 11 1/2 " x 16 1/4" puzzle is perfect for elementary school aged children, or the whole family.

Other Features

Featuring two paintings William Henry Jackson.(1843-1942)
During the Civil War Jackson served as a reporter and artist. In 1866 he traveled west by wagon train going to Salt Lake City and then to California, returning in 1867. He made numerous sketches of the places and sites along the way. After he returned, he started photographing parts of the same areas in the West. In 1870 he served as an official photographer for the Hayden Expedition that explored Yellowstone. Jackson's photos of its natural wonders helped to persuade Congress and the American public to make Yellowstone our first National Park. The early drawings, sketches and photos of scenes became the bases for his western paintings.
